"I've always had extremely oily skin. I've always been self-conscious about this and have been to a dermatologist twice. The first time was in high school and I was prescribed Retin-A. It worked for a while, but eventually wore off. In my mid-twenties, my oil was out of control despite using expensive department store cleansers. I went to the dermatologist and was prescribed Acutane. This got rid of the oil, but it's very expensive and it can cause major side effects - not recommended for long-time use. I didn't want to rely on drugs, so I stopped the use and my skin eventually returned to a very oily condition. Even though I'm in my thirties now, my skin still produces excessive oil. I recently treated myself to a visit with a licensed esthetician, Claire Young. She performs facials in San Diego. She is very skilled and got rid of my impurities and did a monumental blackhead removal :). She also introduced me to Dermalogica products. I have never been this impressed with facial cleansers for oily skin. They don't strip away oil - which always makes my skin produce more. I now have a skin regimen with the MediBac line for oily skin. I use a daily cleanser followed by a daily mattifier, then top my skin with an oil control lotion. At night I use an oil-based pre-cleanse....yes, oil. I never thought I'd be applying oil to my already oily face, but the chemistry of this product is remarkable. It emulsifies with warm water and preps my skin so that my cleanser works thoroughly. I am getting compliments on my skin and I just love the way it feels. Thank you, Claire!"

"My bridesmaids and I found Claire through her website- this of course made me a little nervous. (it is kind of a big day and all) Claire put me at ease with her correspondence, but just in case, I went to MAC and had them do me up with wedding makeup. I took several photos and brought them with me.

Claire adapted her own style to the photos and ultimately I was extremely happy with my makeup. Claire was incredibly cool about changing up the eye makeup. she didn't bat an eyelash. Instead she listened to what I said and fixed it right up.

The makeup held up all night long, even through some crazy dancing, and it looks perfect in the photos. After seeing the makeup she did on the rest of the girls I can say with certainty that you need not worry about bringing in a photo. every single one of the girls looked amazing.

"Planning a wedding is never easy, and not especially when it’s being held in a different city than you live. I live in Los Angeles but needed a make-up and hair stylist down in San Diego for the big day. I took the time to commute back and forth between the cities to find the right vendors for me – flowers, cake, catering… but it was the stylist that was most important to me. I wanted to look smashing! After several disappointing trials, I found Claire. Upon meeting, I simply described the look I wanted (garden fresh for an outdoor wedding) and she gave me what I wanted.
