Frequently Asked Questions

"What’s the difference between airbrush makeup and traditional application?"

The main difference is coverage. Airbrush makeup application gives a very complete, flawless type of coverage, and it is lightweight and long lasting. Some clients, however, prefer a fuller, more opaque type of coverage. For this type of client, a traditional cream based makeup application may be preferable. I offer both airbrush makeup application as well as traditional makeup application. The choice is completely up to you!

"Do you come to me or do I come to you?"

Again, the choice is completely up to you! If you come to my studio there is no travel fee. If I come to you there is a travel fee. Travels fees vary, depending on distance. I charge approximately one dollar per mile outside of the 92116 zip code. This is fairly standard in the industry.

"Is a practice session absolutely necessary?"

Practice sessions are not mandatory but are generally recommended. The practice session is an opportunity for us to get acquainted and to discuss in detail the type of look you are interested in for your wedding day. We can exchange pictures as well as ideas, and look we come up with together can then be easily duplicated on the actual day of the wedding.

"How long does the practice session take?"

The makeup practice session generally takes about 45 minutes, while a practice session for hair may take a little bit longer; usually around an hour. If you are interested in practicing both you may want to plan on being with me for a couple of hours.

"Is a deposit and contract absolutely necessary?"

Yes. The deposit and contract ensures that the date of your wedding is secured. I generally request 50% of the total balance due. The deposit is non refundable.

"What can I do to ensure that my skin looks radiant on the day of my wedding?"

I would consider booking a series of deep pore cleansing facials six months before the wedding date; one per month leading up to the wedding day. Regular facials will deeply cleanse and revitalize the skin, leaving it polished and picture perfect for your big day. Please contact me to schedule your series of facials six months before your wedding day.
